    I kind of disagree with Fire Emblem Engage. Sure things about Engage are questionable, i admit, but there is so much good about it. In my opinion, Engage is not the worst Fire Emblem game in the Series and all this hate by JRPG fans comes from not giving this game a chance but that's just my opinion.

    I disagree with alot of your complaints of the last remnant. You are a general that is not on the battlefield telling the different unions what their tactic is as a union. It isnt meant to be micromanage every soldiers on the battlefield as they dont attack individually, but as a union. The battle system is great, you are looking and expecting something else from the battle system and not letting yourself see what it is for what it is. I agree with the leveling, it was convoluted having 2 leveling system at once that requires the opposite battle state to level, and can result in you being to high a BattleRank to increase your individual stats, resulting in you being too weak and the inability to get stronger.

    Episode III PSO is strange and very complicated. XD It's one of those games that's loveable when you understand it, but getting a grip on it takes too long, and in modern terms it has the problem of being too slow-moving. Best-case scenario for learning is probably playing the third 2-player mission multiple times while figuring out how to work with what you've got. I wish it had come with a much more robust 2-player mode, because that could be really fun. Cards have a ton of interesting strategic effects to work around, and are surprisingly balanced such that medium-cost cards usually perform well against the low-cost ones, high-cost cards do well against medium-cost cards, and yet low-cost cards are often useful at dealing with high-cost cards, using special effects and hit-and-run tactics. Likewise, some cards seem fairly weak, but can become extremely effective with the right uses, like Long Arm. Incredible soundtrack too. There's a reason its final boss theme reappears in PSO2. :D

    It's a very strange answer, but any RPG published by "Square Enix". I've beaten no single of them yet. - "Final Fantasy's VI and VII gameplay didn't appeal me. Random encounters also bored me. - Old "Dragon Quest" games felt just like bland storywise and also random encounters existed. Idk if XI fixed it. - "Star Ocean: The Divine Force" made me quit to the first boss. - "Octopath Traveler" series had very frustrating bosses which made me quit. - Same goes for "Bravely Default". CrossCode is the game which I can also share the same experience. Too many puzzles for me which distracted me from enjoying the actual great story. Lea is one of my absolute favourite RPG protagonists.

    I agree with monster hunter series. It felt very repetitive to me. The way you fight from the beginning of the game is the same at the end nothing changes. If they could add a skill tree to spice things up it could be more interesting. If they have a interesting story like God Eater I dont mind the repetitiveness.

    The points at the end are something a lot of people don't get. It's 100% possible for a game to be good but you personally don't enjoy it. A game could be incredible, 100/100, but it could also simply not be for some people. Elden Ring is a great example of this. Great game for those that like that kind of game, but it's not for everyone.

    • @theoaremevano3227
      @theoaremevano3227 День назад

      Too true. If you don't like a game, it's still possible to respect it, still possible to admire things about it, and at bare minimum, understand that there's a reason other people like it. Not liking a game doesn't require justification every time. It's not like you'll be a bad person if you don't prove the game is bad somehow. Idk why people often act as if this is the case. I'm still hoping to get properly into ER someday. Just isn't a good time for me now. Everything's such a mess. :/ But I'm hoping I might take another dive into it after a couple other action title later this year that I REALLY want to try. A game I'd probably put on a list like this though is Astral Chain, despite how much I like a lot of things about it and was sure I'd be into it. I wasn't expecting to dislike the mission structure/content organization of all things, and I can't outright fault it for that. I just don't like it.

  • @UNGGodYT
    @UNGGodYT День назад

    the problem of vagrant story is the complex system, until you understand it, the game is very punitive, it also make the MC too weak from the start for a legendary Risk breaker, it is very easy to shoot yourself in the foot, if wasnt enough to start with weapon affinity zero or negative, the game soon gives you combo to do more damage, but affinity is gained by complete attack, so by combo every enemy to death, you dont build up affinity, making them take less damage, forcing to combo more and the cicle goes on, so until you realize you should just normal attack common enemies and only combo bosses, you are many hours in and suffering a lot. I guess in the last revision before shipping, they saw how unbalanced it was, so there is a lot of pity chests near the end of game.

  • @UNGGodYT
    @UNGGodYT День назад

    Phantom brave is difficult to like, yeah the limited time is a hindrance, so much i just used the weak item with infinite duration on Maron the only permanent charact and just grinded for status and healing steps, what kills it for me is the multiple paths but NO CICLE SYSTEM! i wont be grinding everytime i want to see a different route! arc of the lad end of darkness is truly bellow average, the big point is even the option to summon characters is wasted, as they work more like a skin and ONE special skill, even ARC that has all magic elements only can use total healing, the most useless spell, i dont remember much, but i think i found a thing that made summon disabled but made MC 10x stronger and just chessed the entire game. I quitted Rogue Galaxy on the tutorial, i died in 5 seconds in the first battle, it was already a troublesome game with with DVD of double layer, being that hard from the get go, nope.

    Not to be a 🤓 here but CrossCode was developed in Germany and was publushed by a major German video game company (Deck13) so technically it would be a "GJRPG". Still though, I'm in the minority in where I loved the puzzles so my experience with the game was flawless at least for me. Currently my favorite "indie"? game of all time.

    I have been mostly enjoying Fire Emblem Engage, myself. Not a *bad* game, but definitely not for everyone, though. It just seems like a culmination of all of the quirkiness that past games had, and it's kind of like one of those animes or other media that just have *no* Fourth Wall, in the sense of the quirkiness being almost *everywhere* with no break from it. Some people might like it, and I like some of the characters, myself, or at least find them interesting, but the problem with them may be that they cranked the quirkiness up to 11 in a shift that seems too sudden from having come from Three Houses. As for Monster Hunter, though, I very much agree. I've always wanted to get into the series because I love Mizutsune, but the quest-driven nature, having to grind to get anywhere, and seemingly being one of those games where the multiplayer is very much where you'll ever actually enjoy it, it's very difficult to get into. My problem, alongside not having friends to play with, is being way too busy to even be able to play with friends in the first place. I also tried to get into Palworld. I'm not sure how good Palworld is to solo, though, even with settings set up to decrease grinding as much as possible.

First ever dragon ripped me apart and I, because have no idea droped this game coz "too hard!". I give up for 3-4 month and give it anither chance. I read A LOT OF TEXT ingame about how to play, and go on with it. So it's happen - the first dragon WAS NOT supposed to be killed! And after it - games oppened for me. It's RPG about being a hunter who getting good.

      The first time it actually click to me is when I finally beat a monster called Rathian in MHGen. Back then, I just consider this series a slower God Eater. Its just weird that something change when you realized you defeated something on your own. Learning the enemy's behavior felt engaging. Its hard to describe why I enjoy MH but ever since I gave hundreds of hours, I crave something similar to it.

    I actually really enjoyed Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution. I think it took me a while to fully understand the rules, but it has some cool mechanics for a card game. The Gamecube had a few cool games that used cards for their gameplay, actually. I love Fire Emblem, but I've never been that fussed about their stories, and Emblem Engage has some of the best gameplay and visuals in the whole series. Three Houses was fun for me as well, but the maps didn't seem very interesting. Also, I hardly ever replay games nowadays because of my huge backlog, especially if they have a lot of busy work like the monastary, and so I feel like I didn't really get to experience the full game for Three Houses. I personally think it's very sad to see Engage's user score on Metacritic be so low because of spiteful people that are disappointed it wasn't more like Three Houses, when a lot of the series isn't really that much like Three Houses either. I worry that this will still happen to future Fire Emblem games, even if they have decent stories, because a lot of the newer fans seem to really want that specific Three Houses formula again.

    Is Monster Hunter even an RPG? I guess it has elements, but I never thought of it as an RPG.

      Imo it should be considered it's own genre at this point (hunting genre for example describes it perfectly). Granted with World they added a bit more story than past games did but it's mostly not a jrpg in terms of if you consider a jrpg to need to have a decent sized story focused on cutscenes and the like and not just any game that has builds/leveling system/etc that some peopel argue is all you need for an rpg (those were more for tabletop rpgs though). Even Souls barely makes the cut as an rpg imo and definitely not as a jrpg as I consider Jrpgs to need more focus on cutscene driven main stories than just quests/a short main quest/builds/open world aspect/etc so i classify all Souls games more as wrpgs if anything (less focus on main story and more on an avatar character than character with their own backstory for most wprgs...Witcher is one of the few wprg exceptions that has an established character)). As for existing genres action game may also fit more so than rpg for MH.

      It Is it's own genre now, Hunting action game. But most people need a friend who' into MH to explain it's corks to then get into it too

    I played The last Remnant on Steam. I really liked the Battle System. It was fun to flank and ambush Enemies, manage Army formations to try new stuff and break enemy morale. I really hope for a Remake and Sequel.

      Same, the only thing i didn't liked was the level scaling which was terrible. I still don't get why devs periodically push level scaling in their games when it literally have zero positives and no one like it.

    Wtf? You didn't enjoy FE Engage?! Honestly?! Sure it's not as great as Three Houses but your criticism is way exaggerated. I really loved it and, if there wasn't the flaw that it doesn't have a New Game Plus, I would like to replay it. On the other hand, I totally agree with the Monster Hunter series. For the same reason. It's the reason why I also don't like games like the overhyped Elden Ring. No or very few story is a no-go for me.

      I think it might have gotten a new game plus option in an update patch. Don't hold me to it though, it's been a loooooooong time since I played it. Totally agree though, LOVED the game!

      He said that he couldn't like the game because of the storyline. I know that most people are mainly focused on the gameplay, but what isn't to understand here?

      the game was okay, but it was bloated with a huge cast (They could've cut a third) and the over arching story was kinda predictable might be a me thing.
